Quick Birthday Cards!!

I'm sorry I've not been posting as promised but I had a lot of things going on in my life.  Nothing major, just stressful stuff anyway I'm  going to show you two really quick cards I made.

This one I made for my new crafty friend Diane.  She had a Birthday crop at her home and I wanted to make her something special. I "borrowed" (love that word!!) the avatar from her blog and did a print and cut with my Cameo to make the background.  I added the name of her blog on the house.   I used a punch to make Mr. Sun. The grass around the mailbox is a green flower split in half. The butterflies and borders are  Martha Stewart punch cuts. The mailbox is an image from the Silhouette store that I altered and cut out. This was so much fun to make!!

This is the inside, stamped and colored by me!!!

This next card was really quick. I'm talking 30 minutess tops!!!              Here's what happened:
My husband walked in one night at 9:45 pm!!!   "Oh", he says, "I told the folks at work that I could probably get you to make a Birthday Card for Melody......tomorrow". WTH!!!   While I'm rolling my eyes at him, he goes on to explain that Melody is a really sweet lady that works very hard and  she doesn't have any family here, so they all decided to pitch in and get her a cake and that's when he volunteered my services!!! "Oh, I forgot, sorry", he says. I couldn't kill him since he funds my crafty habit, so off to the Silhouette store I went. I actually love how it turned out.

Front:
Here's the inside.  No coloring for me as this was a last minute thing.  Hmmmppff, he's lucky I put anything on the inside!!

Since they all work for Lockheed-Martin on the C-130, I threw this on the front inside of the card. This image is cut out of vinyl at 3.5 inches.  The C-130 is a little over 1/8 inch high. Love my Cameo!!!

You know, sometimes I just want to stab my husband for springing these last minute craft requests on me, but the look in his eyes when I finished this card made it all worth it. He was cheesing so big I thought he would pass out!!!  And his "thank you Plum" (ya,  that's what we call each other) was so endearing all my fury just flew right out of the window!

He reported that she loved it and said she was going to put it on her mantle at home and that no one had ever made her anything for her birthday.  That made me smile.
