Spring card with butterflies (clear)

This week's Scrap of Color challenge was "anything with butterflies". I was just playing around with my Ebosser and patterned acrylic sheets and came up with this. I tried my hand with copics again (still in need of a class) but they didn't show up to well on the acrylic. I found the Spectrum Noir markers to be far more superior for this project.  The colors were vibrant and stuck really well to the acrylic. I cut the butterflies out of vellum and adhered them to inside (bottom butterflies) and on the outside (top butterflies).  I hope you can see it. It was really hard to photograph.

I put a white piece of cardstock in the middle to help it show better. Really, it was just something to do because I don't know who one would send a clear card to. lol

Sketching

Both of these cards were done with my Cameo and sketching pens.  I used the Silhouette brand makers, I find that they last longer than some of the others. I also used the Silhouette pen holder.

My first time using Perfect Pearls for the Bamboo Tree.  I think I like them.

Simple Acrylic Card

I was going through all my paper and I found a stack of acrylic sheets along with a pack of leather, yes leather sheets. It's amazing what we find we we go through all our stuff. Anyway, I thought that I'd try to use the acrylic sheets (later on the leather) since I had them. This is what I came up with.  I cut the sheet down to 4 x 6 and made sure I cut out the design. Really quick and simple. The only thing I can think to do with the leather can't be posted on here!!!  Tee hee!!!  We will see though!!

Dome Birthday Card - Graphic 45 "All that Jazz"

Hello, It's Danita from danitasdesigns.blogspot.com. My project this month is a acetate dome birthday card.  I picked up a 3 pack of domes and cards from the Heirloom Stamp Show that was here in Georgia in February and decided it was time for me to try to make one.

Close up of front. Notice I blinged out her jewelry!

Materials Used: Graphic 45 "All That Jazz"
                           Hampton Art Jazz Stamp
                           Recollections stickers and rhinestones
                           ATG
                           Gold Stickles

This is my first time using Graphic 45 paper. Really, I always thought it was weird looking and basically just ugly! I had a change of heart after my friend, Helen, decided to post that the Tuesday Morning stores were selling the usually $25.00 - $35.00 paper packs for $3.99!! For some reason I can't seem to turn away from a deal. Okay, so Helen is in Oklahoma, I am in Georgia so I went out on the hunt for her for the "Once upon a Sprintime" Collection. Well I couldn't just buy her some, now could I? Then she had the nerve to tell me about her sets of Graphic 45 themed paper!! So you know I had to get me some more. I don't have sets, but I did manage to get some different packs. I googled it and found quite a few very pretty cards, boxes and layouts. Now I'm hooked!! It's very good cardstock too, weighty.

Here's how I made the card:

Dome and card base
The card comes embossed and sized to fit the dome

I did not want to use the white card base so I used it as a template to create my base in a cream color cardstock.

Next I cut out an image I liked from the cardstock and used the template to cut out an oval shape base for the image.

Using my Cameo I cut out the frame, lettering and backing in black for the card. I glued the patterned oval to a solid black oval and popped up the couple with pop dots to make them stand out. Then, of course, I blinged out her jewelry using stickles. Once you have embellished your image, you will seal it into the dome.  I used my ATG gun. It should look like this: (see below)
I cut out another card in a lighter weight cardstock for the inside, stamped and embellished it. Here's the stamp I used.  It coordinates with the Graphic 45 paper I used.

Thanks for looking!!!

Ebosser to the rescue!!!

Ohhh Emmm Geee!!  If you don't have this machine, you need to get it!!!  Quick!!!

Here's what happened....My husband and I were to attend his cousin's wedding this past weekend. As some of you know,  I have been battling a major sinus infection and rhinitis (or however it's spelled) so I wasn't up to making and elaborate card, in fact, hubby went out that morning to wash the car so I just assumed he bought a card.

Okay so I drugged up enough to make it through the day and we get get ready to leave.  Hubby says "You got the card, right?".  I said, "I thought YOU had the card, you know I've been sick!!" (milking it for all it's worth).  Now you may wonder what the problem is, you see, in this family, we don't do gifts at weddings, we give money.  This is how it has always been since I've been married to the man for 27 years! You would think I would keep a supply of cards on hand right? Wrong!!!  I always have good intentions of making that special card. Never happens........thats why the road to hell is paved with good intentions!!! Yuk, yuk!! Anyway, the money is always appreciated.

Moving right along......Hubby said "You know we don't have time to stop!" I looked around and there she was!!!!  Shining brightly and smiling at me!!!  She said ~"Do not worry, I can have that card made for you in less than 5 minutes!!!  Come on, give me a shot!!"

I told hubby that I would have that card made by the time he let the doggy out and got our coats ready to go.  Of course he didn't believe me.  Needless to say even he was impressed!!!

BAM!!!!!  Here it is!!!
Not to fancy, but again I'm sure the couple were more concerned with what was on the inside!!  It fits perfectly into a 5 x 7 envelope too.  White is good right?  Wedding, white, oh well, it worked!!

Threw a congratulations sticker on the inside and signed it.

Here's the 5 minute process broken down for ya!
8.5 x 11 cardstock.  You will want to use to good stuff for this.

Run it through the machine.  Tee, hee, isn't she lovely?

Fold

Throw some clear stickers on the inside.  I got this stack, along with several others at Marshall's for $1.99. Trust, they come in handy!!

Got these Martha Stewart Stickers from Marshall's also, $1.49!!

And there you have it!!!

I also decided to post one of my favorite Calling Cards since it is also a St. Patrick's Day theme.  This is my CC from a crop I attended last year.
 I love Hello Kitty!!!
This CC was made with my Cricut E2, the Hello Kitty cartridge and the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.

Tree card

Okay, don't laugh too hard.  I did this card for the SOC challenge "create out of your comfort zone".
This is an embossed tree card that I attempted to color with copics!!  lol  I have absolutely no idea how to properly use copics.  I guess I better take a class huh??  Heeheehee!!
