Thinking of You Card

This is my first attempt trying a I a technique I learned at our local Stamp Shop. You use the peel-off stickers and color/paint inside to give a 3-D look.

For this image, I used the Smooch Accent Paint and the DCWV foil cardstock. Once the smooch was dry, I went back over the colors with glossy accents.

I embossed the background sheet and used the sticker accent borders around the images.

Happy Birthday Zebra Print Card

I made this card using Washi Tape, Black Glitter Paper and a design from the Silhouette Cameo Store. I got the Zebra print on the circle from the web and made it into a print and cut background.

Masculine Cards

I have been practicing making Masculine cards all month. I find them to be most challenging because of the lack of bling, flowers and ribbons. I decided to challenge myself this month with this task. I started out really slow and wanted to give up several times, but I pushed on. You can see more under the Masculine Card Label to  right of this blog.

Here's the first one in this set:
I used the Tim Holtz Retro Grunge Paper Stash and Candi dots colored with my Copic Marker. The badge is a die from Spellbinders.
Teehee, I was playing around with an image from the Silhouette store to see if I could turn it into a card. I did.  This one was kind of fun to make.
DCWV Natural Cardstock, gears, spirals and Thickers was used to create this one.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!!!

Motorcycle Card

This is a unisex card for all my biker pals. The motorcycle is an outline sticker that I colored in with my smooch paints. I cut the font and smoke with my Cameo and the rest is Washi tape on black glitter cardstock. Oh and Candi dots!!

3-D Masculine Card

I have had this kit for almost 3 years and never used it. The main reason is because I didn't understand how the pieces worked together, but now that I'm a little more experienced with making3-D projects, I decided to give it another go. I love how it turned out. I decided to add it to my Masculine Cards projects I'm working on this month. The kit is by Ecstasy Crafts Inc. It's full of ideas so I may try a few others later on.

Masculine Cards and Washi tape

I made these two cards while playing around with my Washi tape. I'm still concentrating on cards for men.
I started out trying to make a denim pocket card.  That did not go too well, so I ended up with this one. I used my Sizzix pocket die, Just rite stamps and Washi Tape.

This one is a little strange but I wasn't going to toss it. It too, did not turn out to look like what I was going for.  I used my Spellbinders Octagon dies, Washi Tape and the sentiment was cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

I hate making cards for guys!!!  I'm not giving up though!!!
Check back soon to see more of my attempts at making cards for men.

Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello, it's Danita from danitasdesigns.blogspot.com! Happy Fall Y'all!!!

For my project this month I decided to challenge myself by making cards for men.

I find masculine cards to be extremely difficult to make for me because I love adding bling to my cards and you can't add bling to a "man card"! I always try to get my husband's opinion on my cards, especially for males. I must have done okay because I didn't get the "that's too shiny" remark from him.

Here's his birthday card, which by the time this posts he will have finally seen.  I stressed over this really bad!  It had to be just perfect for him. He's in a fraternity (Kappa Alpha Psi). I tricked him into posing for this picture throwing up his fraternity sign.  The little diamond to the left is also his fraternity's symbol and has the word Nupe on it.

Here's the inside

I made this card for my daughter's boyfriend. I got the idea from a lady on You-tube (via my friend, Felisa) by the name of  Doreen.  You can see her video here. I am so appreciative of her sharing her idea with us.

This last one for today is really simple, but fun.  I got the inspiration from Pinterest.
It's a shirt card that I added little kerchiefs to.

I ended up really enjoying the challenge, so I will be posting a few more Masculine Cards in the near future.  Be sure to check back soon!
