Kitchen Decor

I had some blank wall space in my kitchen and finally decided what to put on it. Charger plates! I used my Bitmoji for the top one and a Google image for the second one. I have fruit and black chefs as a theme in my kitchen so these fit perfectly.

Birthday Money Cake and Poster

This is my first attempt in making a money cake. A few errors were made but overall, it came out pretty neat. It was for my Mother-in-laws 80th birthday and she loved it. It contains $80.00 in ones, fives & ten-dollar bills.  I made the poster out of foam board from Dollar Tree.

For the poster board, I used the Fiskars AdvantEdge Punch System to make the cupcakes and balloons.  I've had it for years and finally got to use it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Flowers

I had the pleasure of attending my very first Black Girls Craft conference with Cricut on October 19, 2019.  One of the classes I attended was Paper Flower Making with Carmen Hellinger. We made the base flowers in her class and of course, I had to come home and add to it because, well....that's me. 😊
I added a bronze shimmer mist to the large flower and bling to the lily. I cut out my name, the fairy and butterfly in gold foil and added a few leaves.  I plan to hang this in my craft room.

You can follow Carmen on Instagram @carmenhdesigns

Valentine's Day Lottery Ticket Bouquet

Another Pinterest inspired project. Really easy to make and It's perfect for my hubby. Just use skewers, a hot glue gun, clothespins and lottery tickets. I used my Silhouette Cameo to design the hearts and tag.

I hope you have an awesome Valentine's Day!

Earrings

I decided to play around with some of my jewelry making supplies.  I haven't touched any of this stuff is years! It was a bit challenging because I didn't remember how to do some things but Youtube to the rescue! They're by no means perfect but they work for me right now. I'll keep practicing so I can get my skills up.

Health Fair Project and Poster

One of the things I like about my new job is that I get to use my crafty skills for Health Fairs. This was made for a Health and Fitness Health Fair at one of the local middle schools that we partner with.  For the tri-fold board, I used printable vinyl , regular vinyl and cardstock. The "My Plate" is made with a charger plate and vinyl.

The Sugar content for each drink will be added before the Fair. We haven't measured it at this time.

Birthday Badge

All I can say is when you agree to make something for someone, you need to remember how to make it!!! I hadn't made one of these is a long time.  It almost took me out but I did it. You can bet I wrote down directions this time!!!

It was a hit at her school.  I forgot to add the pins so that the money could be pinned to the ribbon, but she handled it!  She collected over $200.00!!!
Have a great day!

Remembrance Pillows

These are some of the most heart warming gifts that I have ever been asked to make. I was a bit nervous because 1. I had never made them before and 2. I knew that these shirts belonged to a loved one that had passed on  and I needed to be really careful with them.  I did my research, utilized Google and Youtube and dove in. I wasn't ready to try to embroider such a treasure  yet so I used HTV (Heat transfer vinyl).

Glitter Wine Glasses

This was my first time attempting to glitter wine glasses, but when you Mother-in-law asks you, at the last minute, if you can make some glasses for her and her friends  for Christmas, you do what you gotta do!

I love how they turned out, but I didn't know they need to fully cure for at least 21 days before they become dishwasher safe. I delivered them anyway(2 days later)  with a disclaimer about how to handle them for them the next few weeks. They all said they weren't going to drink out of them anyway because they were "too pretty". They're going to keep them on display!  That made my day and avoided a possible catastrophe'! lol

Piggy Bank Fun!!

I was looking for a Piggy Bank to decorate for gift for a dear friend's baby girl's first birthday. I tell ya, Piggy Banks are hard to find now days! I lucked up and found a plain one at Hobby Lobby (the last one they had) and this is what I did with it.  It was a quick and easy gift. I love how it turned out.
I added the bow and bling. I also added the eyelashes and cheeks. I had to make it Diva-ish for the little Princess.

This was the original Piggy Bank. Plain.

Blinged Out Flower Pot Bubblegum Machine

I made this bubblegum machine candy holder using mostly items from Dollar Tree.
The glitter was hard to photograph but trust me, there is a ton of glitter on this baby!
The flower pot, vase and lip balm came from DT but I had to get the lids from Michaels. I actually ended up getting two different size lids because the smaller lid kept falling off.
The instructions call for a wooden ball for the handle on top. I could only find bags of wooden balls or single ones for 3.99. I knew I would probably never, ever used the balls again and I didn't want to pay that much for a one time use, so I came up with an alternative method.  I have quite a few lip balms from Dollar Tree so I popped out the lip balm and used the container for the handle.
I glued the top together and used Modge Podge to coat and add the dreaded glitter. (I hate working with glitter!!!)
Here's the evil red stuff being applied to the lip balm container.
I cut a spout out of card board and molded it to form the shape, then I glued it to the flower pot.
Next, I started applying Modge Podge to the flower pot and lids and then on to the tedious task of applying the glitter. I let it dry between each coat of Modge Podge and glitter.
Here's the pot before the bling.
Here's the double lids
And the finished product.  Three coats of Modge Podge and glitter and of course bling!!I may have went a little over the top with the bling, but I love it!!
Thanks for stopping by, oh and a shout out to my friend Helen for replenishing my bling stash!!!
Love ya!!!
