Stuffies!

 I tried my hand at making these stuffed embroidery animals. The first one was an epic fail. I used felt instead of fleece.  Felt is very hard to turn inside out, so don't use that. The white tiger was my next attempt, it went a lot better. The colorful doggy was much easier as that fabric had a little stretch to it and was larger. 

I will probably make a few more, just for fun. 

I think I stuffed the tiger a little too much, he's really stiff.😂

I used less stuffing on the doggy. He’s much softer.

Just A Little Embroidery

My husband's fraternity had a very nice event this year called The Kappa Derby. He did not have time to get his Fedora hat embroidered, like the other members of the chapter did, so he turned to me! I did my on spin on it! He was a little worried at first because it did not look like the others (I didn't like them) but after he got tons of compliments, he was very happy! I think I may be busy next year!😉

Baby Shower Gifts

I just realized that I never posted these to my blog. This was for a dear friend of mines' baby shower. I made all of these.  They a mixture of  Iron-on vinyl and Embroidery. Labor of love!

Embroidered bag sets

These are some bags I embroidered for Christmas presents. They were well received. My sister (top set), who already has everything and is hard to buy gifts for, loved hers along with the personalized blanket I posted earlier. That in itself was worth it! lol  The bottom set was for my daughter. She said she will use the larger one to carry to gym and put her makeup in the smaller one.

Key Fobs - USP & Mail Carrier

These are the gifts that I made for my UPS man and Mail lady this year.  I also gave them gifts cards. I appreciate their service, especially the UPS guy. He takes great care of my packages. Now the Mail lady, well I have to be nice to her, I found out she's a distance relative of my husband. I can certainly tell when she not delivering!

Monogrammed Kitchen Towels

I had to put on my other hat today to make these for my employees and the doctor I work for. While it took a long time to do, I enjoyed changing up from paper crafts for a minute. Their reactions made all the time it took worthwhile!  I tried to match each towel with their personalities....Nail It!
I used the #Embrilliance Essentials embroidery software to design the monogrammed pot holders and the designs on the towels are from #Urban Threads.

Dollar Tree Door Hanger

I made this door hanger for my sister. Almost everything is from the Dollar Tree Store, except the leaf flocking. I embroidered her initial with my PE 770 machine then I cut the "Happy Fall" out of glitter card stock with my Cameo. I traced the green leaf by hand, then cut it with my Brother Scan-N-Cut. I combined the pumpkin with 2 leaves form DT. It kinda looks like a turkey huh?

Embroidered Fraternity Towels

I tried my hand at towels for my husband for Father's Day. I watch plenty of videos before completing this task. He was surprised as he had gone out of town to visit his father. I finished these right before he walked into the house late last night. I'm tired!!!

Embroidered Key Fob

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there! I salute you today. Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, my Father-in-law and my Dad, Rev. L.C. Hines, who is resting in paradise.

I just learned how to do this yesterday so it's far from perfect. I had fun learning it though. It was trial and error and about 6 or 7 trashed ones but I made it through!

This is for my Father-in-law. We call him Buck! Just a little last minute something to add to his day.

The Mini Antlers can also be found for free on Boutiquefonts.com  . I used my embroidery software, Embrilliance Essentials, to merge the name to the antlers.

The Kam snaps and hardware are from MikriWorld, Love their customer service and prices!!! They also ship very fast!

The material was very, very soft so I hooped one layer of cut-away stabilizer, then added a layer of
Peltrex Ultra Firm Stabilizer between the the top layer and the backing. This made it stiffer and more suitable for wear and tear.  You can get the stabilizer for Joann's Fabrics. It's usually on sale or you can use a coupon.

Embroidered Sun Hats

Two more hats! One for my Mother-in-law and of course, another one for my daughter! lol

I'm loving the floppy sun hats but heck, I haven't even made myself one! I guess I better get busy!

I designed these in the #Embrilliance Essentials software program. If you embroider, this software a must. It makes designing so much easier.

Embroidered Sun Hat

I made this fold and go sun hat for my daughter to take with her on some of the many trips that she has planned for this year. I know she's probably sick of me making all these hats for her (to match her swim wear), but I need to practice so I can decide if this is a craft I really want to pursue.

This is the machine in action. It's still kind of nerve racking to watch. I want to get to point where I can just do it without worrying if it will come out right. As you can see the "D" is a little crooked.

Another Dollar Tree hat

I'm still playing around with my stash of Dollar Tree hats. I'm practicing (a lot) before I move on to the more expensive hats. I want to be sure I know what I'm doing before I mess up a really nice hat. My daughter (these are her initials) is going to be so sick of  Monograms by the time I finish playing around!!!

I bought the denim at Micheals and frayed the edges on the band and the patch, then I glued it on the hat.

Monogrammed Dollar Tree Hat

I transformed a plain Dollar Tree hat with my Embroidery machine, ribbon and shabby roses that I have had for about 2 years (see, I really do use my stash, it just may take me longer than others, lol)

This is the final product:

 Not exactly perfect but this is practice for me and the hat was only a buck.

 This is what the hat originally looked like. They are cheaply very cheaply made but you can transform one to wear at least for one season, maybe longer.

I am still learning my Embroidery machine so I do plan on going back to DT to get more practice hats so stay tuned!

Machine Embroidery

I hate to admit this but I've had my embroidery machine for almost 2 years and never used it. I was scared of the darn thing!  I've been sewing since I was 12 years old, but this is a different kind of horse. When I first got my Brother PE770 Embroidery machine two years ago, I was so excited! I immediately took it out the box, set it up and was ready to go. I can sew right?  So this should be a breeze right? Wrong-o-roony!!! First of all, where in the heck is the darn foot pedal? How does this thing know where to start sewing, if you just push a button? What the heck is Water Soluble Stabilizer? A pre-wound bobbin? Tear-away, iron-on, floating? Eeeek!!! I got a bit overwhelmed and pushed it it the corner, where it sat until a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine Susan, decided to host an Embroidery Retreat in South Carolina. Never heard of an Embroidery Retreat? Me neither , it was a first!! Myself, along with several other women loaded up our machines and accessories and headed to South Carolina.

I must say that we had loads of fun and I actually learned a lot from the few experts that were there. Poor Susan and another friend Mary. They were bombarded with "how do you" questions. They were patient and kind (much more patient than I would have been, patience wears off as you get older). I am finally learning to face my fears with this thing although I have a long way to go, I'm really enjoying it.

Here's a few things I've been working on. Now remember, I'm still a "newbie", so you are bound to see plenty of errors!

I spruced up some old kitchen towels by adding this design from +Designs By JuJu.  They have wonder designs that stitch beautifully.

 This is another +Designs By JuJu  file. It's an applique file embroidery file. Another old towel spruced up! You can savage a lot of old towels this way!! lol

 I got this bag from +PickYourPlum. This bag folds up into this cute little pouch. I added my name to the leather flap. I used a font from Blastostich. The placement is too high. I will get it right next time.

These embroidery files are call Free Standing Lace, meaning just that....you embroidery directly on the stabilizer. This machine is amazing!
