Father's Day Cards with Embossing Paste

Here's some cards I made for my husband and Father-in-law for Father's Day. It was painstaking hard!!! You have to be careful with "guy" cards not to make them too feminine. No Bling!!! No Ribbon!!!  That's a problem for me!!!  lol

I did get to use my new Embossing Paste from Dreamweaver. I love this stuff!!! It's thick and glides over the stencils really well.  Be sure to scroll down and check out the close-up. Did I mention this is my first time using both the Embossing paste and the Stencils.  It's not perfect but hopefully I will get better with practice.

Details: Dreamweaver's Metallic Gold and Silver Embossing paste.
              Dreamweaver's Stencil
The Paper Company Black Linen Cardstock (really nice and heavy)
              Gold Metallic Paper
              Silver Washi Tape
              EK Success border punch
Cameo Sketch Pens - Gold & Silver
DCWV Glitzy Glitter Stack (yucky paper, but I have so much , I have to use it)
A closer look

Here's the inside
I cut a separate piece of cardstock about 4 inches high, rounded the corners, decorated and stamped it. I left a 2.5 inch opening in the middle to slide in a gift card.

This is the Embossing paste that I used.  You just tape the stencil down on your cardstock and spread with a craft spatula, lift slowly and let it dry.  It took about 30 minutes t dry.
Here's the Stencil. There is no name on it, so I can't tell you what it's called.

Close up shot.  You can see how it raises up off the cardstock.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone enjoys Father's Day with their loved ones!!

  2. Wow! They turned out quite nicely. I have some stuff that is not labeled for stamping. I wonder if it's embossing paste. LOL! I'm gonna try it with something today and see what happens. LOL!

  4. OK- something happened to the message I just tried to leave you (so if it magically reappears, just roll your eyes and ignore the duplication)!

As I was saying, I can't believe this is your first attempt! It really is beautiful! They will love it! (Good job holding back on the glitter and ribbons! I know that was hard!)
